Food Security & Nutrition Situation in Jere LGA Borno State – January 2024

High levels of food insecurity in Nigeria are projected to increase from 18.6 million in 2023 to about 26.5 million people by the height of 2024 lean season, and from 3.3 to 4.4 million respectively in Borno, Adamawa, and Yobe (BAY) States.

This report focuses on the food security and nutrition situation in Jere Local Government Area (LGA) in Borno State. Findings from the report indicate that about 9 in 10 (88%) of the surveyed households in Jere LGA experienced “food insecurity” in 2023, whereas about 12% were “food secure”.
